The Warehouse – Cheap Eats on Stephen Avenue

I have been able to explored more places around Stephen Ave (thanks to higher purchasing power from my internship and proximity to this chic place). One lunch my co-worker mentioned this new restaurant that offers $6/dish all day. This is definitely different from other places that offer ridiculously expensive food along Stephen Avenue. From my 2 visits to this place, the experience overall was pretty good for the price and location.

My friends and I tried several dishes, and for $6, their spaghetti/penne/macaroni dishes have good portions and value for money, despite being a little bland. Their goat cheese and beets salad was good too, especially if you look for something on the light side to avoid that lunchtime drowsiness. Service can be a little bit slow during lunch, but they do have a variety of fun bops to keep you interested and the vibe up.

Overall, I think The Warehouse is like a new “Kids on the Block” that offers competitive pricing and appeals to young working people on Stephen Avenue. It’s a great addition to Stephen Ave, given how similar the current ones are (Cactus, Earls, Milestones …). It will be interesting to see how this will work for them in the long run though, cause I bet the lease must be costing them a fortune.
